About Us
Community Building Group was founded in 2012 to bring safe water and reliable power to rural communities in Burkina Faso. What began with a single well has grown into a program that pairs water access with solar energy and irrigation — because clean water alone doesn't finish the job.
We are locally staffed, community-led, and radically transparent about where every dollar goes. Every project is designed with the community that will use it, and handed over with the training to run it for decades.
In many of our partner villages, women and girls walk as far as 12 kilometers a day to fetch water — time that comes directly out of the school day. When clean water is available year-round and irrigation replaces manual watering by hand, that burden lifts, and school attendance rises.
At least 60% of the people we reach across every program are women, girls and young people — it's not a side effect of our work, it's a design goal.
